Welcome to our brand new and 2nd release on ‘Members Only Recordings’, our new Forty Five Kings Record Label run by Dj Mr Lob and released as 170 strictly limited 7″ vinyl pressings.

The 45 is being pressed in Melbourne, Australia and will be ready to Ship out to you from 16 June 2023 with Direct Sales from this page or UK/European Order options below.

The object of the label is to release on 7″ vinyl, tracks made and produced by the members of the Forty Five Kings Collective and sell them exclusively through this website and/or work with trusted Record Shops (both physical and online).

Our mission is to Keep 45s Alive, through releasing 7″ vinyl records and supporting those involved in the culture.

Side A. A Funky Little Something – Honka Ponka & Gu

Honka Ponka & Gu are two DJs from Northern Germany who finally have their first release with ‘A Funky Little Something’ on the Australian label Members Only Recordings.

Honka Ponka & Gu got to know each other in the Bremen music and club scene in the early 2000s and have been involved in quite a few musical endeavours since.

Gu is a musician, DJ and writer, who also runs Our label Records and its subsidary Origu.

Honka Ponka aka Paul Bärwald runs the MP Audio studios where Gu recorded a number of times. Paul also mastered quite a few of the Our label Records/Origu 45 releases.

Honka Ponka & Gu have been djing together a lot which led to starting to create music together.

“A Funky Little Something“ is a bouncy dance and B-Boy track with funk and hip hop vibes to get down to and features Gu on drums with a crazy good horn line and some super cool MC vocal drops (recognise the samples?).

It’s Showtime Baby!

Exclusively for our label and for the very first time on 45, Tom Showtime’s classic track ‘Jazz Biscuits’ from his ‘Jazz Biscuits’ EP from 2014 finds itself on beautiful black 7″ wax!!

Following the theme from our first release Side AA track, ‘Jazz Crumbs’, we up the tempo with mash-up man Tom Showtime’s track ‘Jazz Biscuits’ with super funky beats, soulful horn stabs and Bootsy Collins dropping the knowledge on top.

When looking for tracks from members for our releases we ask ourselves, does it contain the 3 elements that makes music beautiful to us, funk, soul and jazz?

We also ask can you dance to it, nod your head and throw your arms in the air?

We think this track is a perfect example of that ethos and that you will love it as much as we do.
