Andy Cooper – Chasing The Funk (Paul Sitter’s 2021 Version)
By now I’m sure many of you are aware of the 7 killer releases Paul Sitter, the man behind Funky Shit Edits, out of Russia, has released.
Or perhaps you have caught his short videos on Instagram where he cuts up 45s like a legend or perhaps you caught the set he did on our Twitch Channel as part of the Russia Special we hosted?
Most of Paul’s 45s have come out on clear vinyl and play at 33, other than the most recent ‘Funky Shit Edits Vol.4 that plays at 45 and all have been in huge demand for the party rocking djs out there and now there is this new slice of Hip Hop power featuring one of the finest MCs to ever grace the mic, Andy Cooper!

The Review
Side A1: Andy Cooper – Chasing The Funk (Paul Sitter’s 2021 Version)
I’m a big fan of the original and also The Allergies edit from 2016 and have really enjoyed Paul Sitter’s releases and from the opening drum break I was hooked on this version.
It’s got a real funky and soulful feel and love the jazzy elements Paul has brought to this track, before he even gets into the dope samples which fit seamlessly into the track’s flow and keeps the track in that classic groove pocket that exists between funk, hip hop and edit culture that their meeting has involved.
You really can’t go wrong with anything that has the legendary MC and journeyman Andy Cooper on it and I tend to like his slower and funkier flows a lot more these days, while still being a big fan of his incredible speed of flow and vocal dexterity. When Andy is on a track, you know it’s time for a party!
Paul Sitter is Chasing The Funk big time on this one.
This 45 will fit into many styles of dj sets and will bring added flavour to that slower moving and grooving dance floor and bring the party alive.
I also think this has a big room and outdoor summer festival feel and will sound amazing on a huge sound system.
Party in the park anyone?
Side B: Andy Cooper – Chasing The Funk
For me this is just a great release and the bside OG is another reason why.
It you don’t dig that Betty Davis sample and fat bassline then you ‘sho ain’t funky enough’ imho!
It’s also got scratches by the 45 legend of the moment Dj Robert Smith from the Dusty Donuts crew.
This is a sure shot of the highest order and both sides are going to do any dance floor or breakers circle justice.
My recommendation is to grab it right now, as I’m told it is selling like hot dogs at the Super Bowl!
Where to Get the 45…
Australia/South Pacific

If you’re in Australia or the South Pacific Dr Diggns is the local stockist and his prices and inventory are excellent.
You can Pre Order this from him right now.
Truthfully the good Dr has been saving Australian Djs a bundle on postage and tax over the past couple of years.
He also ships internationally and stocks a whole bunch of other Labels such as Dusty Donuts and Private Stock Records, as well as a great lineup of Japanese used 45s and cool Merchandise.
Worlwide
Paul Sitter – Funky Shit Edits has their own Bandcamp page where they release limited numbers of each release in various colours which are like always instantly sold out.
